Two apps, and you need both

One runs on your iPhone and sends. The other runs on your television and receives. The television app is free, with no ads and nothing to buy. Building both halves ourselves is why mirroring keeps working across iOS releases instead of breaking with them, the way reverse-engineered approaches do.

Working in about three minutes

    Install the receiver on your TV

    Find Vistacast Receiver in the app store on your Fire TV, Google TV or Android TV and install it. It is free, carries no ads, and asks for nothing.

    Open both apps on one Wi-Fi network

    Launch the receiver on the television and Vistacast on your iPhone, both joined to the same network. The television shows up in the list on its own, with no code to type and no account to create.

    Tap Mirror screen

    Pick your television and start. Your screen and its audio appear on the big screen, sent straight across your own network.

What you get

Nothing goes through the cloud

There is no server between your phone and your television, because there is no server at all. No backend, no account, no sign-up. If your internet dropped, mirroring would keep going.

Screen and audio together

System audio is captured alongside the picture, so video, games and music reach the television with sound. The microphone is never used and never requested.

Finds your television on its own

The receiver announces itself on the local network and appears in the list. Vistacast remembers the one you use most, so the next time is a single tap.

Adapts to your network

Quality and bitrate track the conditions on your Wi-Fi from moment to moment, stepping down to hold a steady picture rather than stuttering to keep a number.

What it can't do

Worth knowing before you install anything, and before you pay for anything.

Netflix, Disney+ and other protected apps
Copy-protected video is blocked by iOS itself, one layer below where any mirroring app runs. Those apps show a black rectangle where the video should be. Everything else on your screen mirrors as normal.
The phone has to stay unlocked
The broadcast stops the moment the phone locks, because iOS shuts the screen-recording extension down. Every app built on this interface behaves the same way.
Audio plays in both places
Sound comes out of the iPhone and the television at the same time. There is no way to mute only the phone while the stream continues.
Samsung and LG televisions
Samsung runs Tizen and LG runs webOS, and neither allows the kind of receiver app Vistacast needs. A Fire TV Stick or similar device plugged into that television works.
